Getting attention

Our installation work has covered a wide range of themes and briefs over the years – ranging from a traditional  English allotment to a wild fairytale fantasy garden. Our gardens have formed the base for TV coverage and our skills are perfectly suited to film set design, events and advertising shoots.

We have had huge success at a number of prestigious UK flower shows. We are immensely proud of these show gardens, along with many other gold medal winning exhibits that we have created. Please see below some of our award winning gardens and creative installations.

CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2017  - THE CHRIS EVANS TASTE GARDEN,  RADIO 2

One of five BBC Radio 2 Feel Good gardens.

A celebration of the tastiest plants growing in the UK ranging from the classics through to some truly unexpected edible plants and flowers.  Bursting with ‘plants that stimulate your palette and enhance your lifestyle, health and wellbeing.’

To plan and put together a show garden of this size within 3 months was a massive challenge, and required a down to the wire, last minute push to pull it off. James started the build of the garden literally straight after arriving from New Zealand, picking out fruit trees from a Nursery close to Heathrow.

Building gardens at Chelsea Flower show is always exciting and this project certainly didn’t disappoint

 Light Nelson 2018

Suppressed and heavily blinkered beneath the tarmac, the land still has eyes.

As part of this years light Nelson Festival we fully stepped into the world of collaboration and mixed media to create a peaceful water garden sitting among a backdrop of native trees and ferns. Using plants to create a natural feel came naturally to James, trying to programme the smoke machine was an entirely different matter.

This installation incorporated a circular water feature that used cymatic waves from hidden base speakers.  Ripples and patterns combined with light and sound to create an area that resonates with the history of the space before it became a car park. There was a clear message that links to the future of our designed spaces, our disturbing disconnection with wilderness and the continued evolution of ecosystems.

Movie for Swiss herbal remedY COMPANY Dr.Dünner 2017

East London commuters were treated to some Swiss serenity

... after James created a small slice of Swiss alpine planting on a corner of Brick lane. James designed the garden in conjunction with the team at Dr.Dünner as part of the launch of their Phytovitality range.  The garden included many of the plants that are used in their products and can be found growing naturally in the Swiss Alps

Assembled, guerrilla style in the early hours, the garden brightened up an area previously covered in rubbish and brought life to the area, with bees arriving almost immediately.

Nelson Arts FESTIVAL

Creating natural spaces for people to enjoy in urban areas.

Originally commissioned by Nelson production guru Sophie Kelly to create a simple hang out space by temporary bar and café, our involvement with the festival grew organically over the years. We have worked with a number local artists to create garden based installations ranging from a full blown hyperreal fairy tale garden to a sit down fire pit retained by a wall of firewood that literally consumed itself through the festival.

One of the highlights was the creation of the ‘luminarium’ It’s easy to look back and think maybe this could be turned into a permanent space sometime. As is often the case, elements of these experimental art spaces find their way into our real gardens.
