Incredible Edible Planting

James.jpg

We have moved on from the notion that Edible space needs to be in a designated area set aside from the rest of the garden and away from the living area. There is a multitude of tricks that bring productive space closer to our living environment.

Here are some of my favourites:-

  • Blueberries love good sunshine and often a bit of protection from the baking late afternoon sun. Also, being acid-loving plants thrive on coffee grinds, so could grow perfectly near your sunny morning coffee spot.

  • Lime or Lemon trees are so much better if they are close to the house ready to use that late afternoon cocktail. Ground cover Thyme can look great around the edges of the citrus trees. Mint (in a pot) can continue this thread of planting

  • Vegetables look fantastic at varying times of the year but can sometimes look untidy. Perhaps clean the look of the vegetable garden by defining it with a neat New Zealand. cranberry (Myrtus Ugni) hedge

Keep it green!
